About Ivan
Ivan attended college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a BA in General Studio Art, but his education started as a kid at home in Honolulu with a big fat pad of unlined notebook paper at a glass coffee table in front of the TV. As a product of a hyper-saturated, pop culture era media in its myriad forms has informed his visual language.
After a lifetime of working in food service and a decade of stay-at-home parenting Ivan is all grown up and drawing a lot more than he was. Bigger than any single image is storytelling from lived experience, offbeat humor, and a heart ready to burst.
Ivan thinks it’s a bit weird to write about himself in the third person, but he is happy to share this moment with you. Now, hire me to draw you something already before we both starve!
